New Classes!

We are excited to offer the following new classes!

Creative Movement I for 3-4 Year Olds onTuesday mornings, 11 - 11:45 am.  Instructor:  Tamara Schreiber.  Tuition:  $75/month.  We've added another Creative Movement class for our younger dancers.  This class will start on Tuesday, January 19th.

Modern Dance Class on Wednesdays, 10 - 11:00 am.  Instructor:  Tamara Schreiber.  Tuition:  $110 for 8 lessons (card) or a drop-in rate of $20.  This class will utilize techniques developed by Jose Limon, Doris Humphrey, and Martha Graham, who have all influenced Ms. Schreiber's training.  Through the vast and rich movement vocabulary developed by these amazing dance pioneers, students learn and accomplish movements that will strengthen the body and enrich their appreciation of dance and all it has to offer.  Participants gain a better sense of body alignment and balance, greater overall strength and range of movement, and a deeper understanding of how the space around them is shaped by the energy and quality of movement generated from their bodies.

*Warm-up - spine and core work - upper body curves, breath awareness

*Continuing use of breath and moving out from yuor center - plies, tendus, brushes, extensions, chasses, spirals, contractions, weight shifts, tilts, floorwork, and stretching

*Across the floor work and center combinations - turns, triplets, low runs, prances, jumps and leaps - incorporating the fundamentals covered earlier in class

Jazz/Bellydance Class on Tuesdays, 10 - 11:00 am.  Instructor:  Tamara Schreiber.  Tuition:  $110 for 8 lessons (card) or drop-in rate of $20.  Designed for all levels, this class is a fun, energetic way to learn the fundamental movements involved in jazz, ballet and bellydance while helping you 'find your center'.  The warm-up will concentrate on placement with varying exercises to stretch and strengthen the body.  Class continues with isolations, center combinations and across the floor work and a longer combination incorporating fundamentals learned throughout the class.

The Contemporary Technique Class on Wednesdays, 7:15 - 8:45 pm.  Instructor:  Seme Jatib.  Tuition:  $130 for 8 lessons (card) or a drop-in rate of $20.  This class is based on a fusion of diverse techniques, such as Graham, Cunningham, Limon and Balanza.  The objective of the class is to develop body movement incorporating the use of gravity, suspension, fall and recovery, emphasizing the use of the torso as it relates to its movement possibilities.
